The Islamic Comparative Religion Academy (ICRA) has embarked on a most extra-ordinary mission, that to distribute the various translations of the Quran free of charge. South Africa has become a rainbow nation in the true sense of the word – RAINBOW. Since our first democratic elections, our country has seen the influx of many foreigners.This offers us with no better opportunity for Da’wah, to deliver Word of Allah right at our door-step. With the influx of many people coming into our country from as near as our neighbouring countries like Mozambique and Zimbabwe to as far as Pakistan, India and China, and the request for Qurans in the various languages are increasing on a daily basis.With request for Quran in the many languages (Afrikaans, Chinese, English, French, Hindi, Portuguese, Spanish, Sotho and Zulu) we have embarked on becoming the Quran Power House in Southern Africa for distributing the various translations of the Holy Quran. We purchase the various translations of the Holy Qurans and distribute them FREE of charge to those that request them.

 

ICRA has gradually but surely become the pivotal focus for Comparative Religion in South Africa. The Islamic Comparative Religion Academy (ICRA) offers a 10 days crash course and a 3 months intensive course in Comparative Religion. Subjects covered in our Comparative Religion course includes:

 

      

 

Undoubtedly, The Universal Challenge is unique and a thought provoking Islamic Magazine based on Comparative Religion catering for all Faiths. The first print of The Universal Challenge in January 2001 was only a hundred photo copies. Today we print 10,000 copies per issue for FREE distribution.

 

The Late Sheikh Ahmed Deedat has always mentioned that Muslims should cultivate the habit of writing about Islam, even it is one line to the local newspaper. He further stated that if our Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) sent 300 letters inviting people to Islam, then we should be able to send 3 million with the modern facilities we have. It is with this intention that motivated the publishing and distribution of The Universal Challenge.

The Universal Challenge plays a vital role in educating the Muslims in the field of Comparative Religion. Furthermore, The Universal Challenge is directed at enlightening Christians in a question and answer format on Islam, its similarities and differences with Christianity. This grants us an open opportunity for Da’wah.

 

The Christians’ Magazines like The Watch Tower and Awake magazines enjoys a world-wide free distribution of over 60 million copies monthly. Our vision is that The Universal Challenge can become a powerful voice against such anti-Islamic literatures.

 

The Universal Challenge is read and appreciated by many from all walks of life and the greatest consolation was that Sheikh Deedat was not only an ardent reader of The Universal Challenge, but encouraged and praised the high quality of a thoroughly researched magazine.

     

 

Teaching Computer skills with the use of the Quran and Bible is an absolutely unique method of doing Dawah and its success rate is well over the 50% mark. We cater for an enrollment of almost 80 Students per course per month.

While every endeavour is made to enroll on a first-come first-serve basis, preference is given to the poor, disadvantaged, and for those who cannot pay for further skills training. All of the above courses are offered FREE of charge.

     

 

 

Ayoob Karim is the Founder and President of The Islamic Comparative Religion Academy (ICRA) and is a scholar of note in Comparative religion. He conducts lectures on many well researched subjects on Comparative Religion and has debated many Christian Missionaries and Evangelists on various subjects on Islam and Christianity.
